HAGLEY COMMUNITY PRESCHOOL TRUSTBOARD

Our preschool is governed by a Trust Board consisting of members appointed by the Hagley College Board of Trustees.  Trust Board meetings are held regularly throughout the year. The Trustboard,  Kaiako (teachers), and preschool management model respect for others, cooperation, and clear communication in the management and operations of the preschool.

Rowan Milburn

Kia ora koutou, my name is Rowan Milburn and I am the very proud Principal of Te Puna Wai o Waipapa – Hagley College and a member of the Pre School Trust. I absolutely love the community feel of our kura and that starts with Te Pito our Pre School. There are cases where whole families are able to come to the same site for their education from the Pre School to Adult Education and this is such a great thing! I love being able to be a very small part of the start of a childs education and to see progress and growth in skills, confidence and character.

It is one of my favourite places to visit when I need a wee ‘pick up’

It is a privilege to be on the Trustboard of Te Pito o Te Puna Wai o Waipapa. I am currently lecturing in early childhood at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury and am the programme lead for the Ako: Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (endorsed in Early Childhood). Whānau and community has always been an integral part of my philosophy and practice and it is definitely reflected in the way that this early childhood service operates. I look forward to being part of this community.

Suzy Petersen

Kia ora koutou, I'm Suzy Petersen.  My two girls started at Te Pito o Te Puna Wai o Waipapa when I was studying jewellery design at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa in 2021.  While my eldest is now at school, I love seeing how they flourish at preschool, and how well their love for learning was nurtured, preschool has set them up for a lifelong love of learning. I firmly believe that tamariki should be at the heart of all decisions, and I see this in action every day at preschool through how cared for and respected our tamariki are.

Outside of being a very proud mum, I am a lawyer at Toitū te Whenua (Land Information New Zealand). I previously practiced in property and trust law.  I have also been fortunate to chair the establishment board of trustees for Ararira Springs Primary - Te Puna o Ararira through until it opened in 2019.
