The health and safety of all tamariki is paramount at all times at Hagley preschool. Kaiako adhere to the health and hygiene policies of the preschool. Whānau can access and contribute to the review of these policies and procedures.

 

 A higher than the Ministry of Education mandated teacher to child ratio ensures tamariki are well supervised at all times both indoors and outdoors.

 

Ratios for Under two year olds:

1 teacher for up to 3 children, and a maximum group size of 10 children.

Ratios for over two year olds:

4 teachers for a maximum group size of 27 children

​

  The environment is fully fenced with double gates at each entry and no-one has unsupervised access to tamariki. Safety checks on play equipment is made daily and the Hagley College maintenance team address any hazard issues.
